About

Research has indicated that planning and looking forward to a trip is almost as fun as the trip itself and greatly adds to the happiness surrounding the vacation. Besides the logistical aspects to plan, travel preparation could include reading books about the destination, trying food and drinks from the destination (maybe even cooking them yourself!), and connecting with people from the destination or who already visited the destination. As travel becomes more thoughtful, doing more ahead of the trip can make the vacation even better.

I traveled on my own for over a decade, often very last minute for a variety of reasons with no time to plan the trip, where I was sometimes even booking the plane ticket in the taxi on the way to the airport. Some planning ahead could have really helped and especially now that I’m a mother, planning ahead for family travel is not just a nice to have but something totally necessary. It’s so important to help little travelers prepare for the trip mentally and emotionally. Books and other resources can really help for this, which is why I decided to start this blog.

This blog includes books about travel destinations as the core but will also include tidbits here and there from my own travels as well as anything suitable I stumble upon during my research that I think might be helpful to others.

I hope these lists might be helpful as you plan your travels and look forward to any feedback - please feel free to leave a comment!

Safe travels!
